It was, let's say, "overly long" as far as arcs go. Thankfully, there is a chance for a lot more adventure and movement in Juliette's story line now. The potential is there. At various points, she has handled big problems on her own: pot of boiling water vs. troll dude, frightening hallucinations, dealing with the revelation that the supernatural (or something very close to it) exists ... So she's obviously strong-willed. Seeing more of that in Season 3 would be fantastic.

That doesn't mean she has to go around punching bad guys in the face, or anything. There are plenty of ways to be a hero.
This is going to sound mean, but I really want them to get rid of Juliette. They don't even have to kill her, although I would actually be OK with that, they just need to get her away from Nick. They have zero chemistry and honestly their relationship is like the biggest buzzkill on the show. I think they need to hook her up with someone else like Monroe, Hank or even Wu. I swear the character was almost tolerable when she was hooking up with Renard, but when she's with Nick all I can think is that she is dragging him down. Sorry, but she makes me want to change the channel and I have always wondered if I'm the only one.
Hi, Belle, I haven't seen any of your posts before, so if you're a new member, welcome! And if you're not, nice to hear from you.

Juliette seems to provoke extremely favorable or unfavorable responses from fans of the show. I've always liked Juliette and think she's good with Nick, but I think it's time for a few more scenes demonstrating the couple's devotion to their relationship. Nick has a very chaotic life, both in his job and in his calling as a Grimm and Juliette's presence in it seems to give him a grounding in normalcy and a calm place to go. Now that she knows about everything she's also giving good counsel and support, and contributing to the cause. She's always been smart, educated and capable, so it's no surprise to me that she is becoming an important member of Nick's crew; about time, I say, Smile

Nick & Monroe seem to have more chemistry with each other than either has with his canonical girlfriend. (I think sometimes that Rosalee was just dragged in to prove that Monroe isn't gay.)
I think Elkhound is definitely on to something. In season one I kept thinking Nick and Monroe were going to start making out in the middle of some of their scenes. They seemed to have a very strong sexual vibe early on. Rosalee has really changed that for Monroe, but Juliette still seems like dead weight to me.

Yes I am new. It's s fun way for me to "talk" about the show since no one I know watches, which baffles me because I was hooked from the beginning. Yeah, not sure why, but I am one of the people who have an overwhelming negative response to Juliette. It's not just her character though; it's really her relationship with Nick, which has always come across as a non-relationship to me. I feel zero chemistry between them and she seems like a real drag on him. Would love to see a story line where she either is dropped or they go their separate ways, but that's just me.
I never picked up on that vibe between Nick and Monroe. During season one I thought Nick and Juliette were cute together; always thought he seemed so in love with her. Season two was different, tho. And this season's episodes haven't concentrated on them as a couple and that's probably not been a good thing. Time will tell and you may get your wish. I could live with any change in the character lineup except Renard being gone! Big Grin

I also come here to talk about this great show; just love the concept and everything about it, but I don't know anyone personally who is a big fan. Maybe because there is so much good programming out there in competition with it and it takes awhile to get invested in watching faithfully. The one thing I'd change is to make the season longer!
Well, YMMV.
Hmm... so much good programming...Grimm is one of the few things left on TV I really enjoy watching. Most of my family and friends watch reality TV shows, which for the most part I can't sit through. I love the fantasy mixed with reality of shows like Grimm and the Walking Dead. Hopefully scripted shows aren't coming to an end like everyone predicts and maybe services like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu will help people get into Grimm. Anyone who isn't watching is missing out on some exciting fun.
I agree that those who don't watch Grimm are missing out on a really entertaining show. When I wrote about good programming these days, I was thinking of shows like Revolution, Mad Men, The Black List, Game of Thrones, Under the Dome, Once Upon a Time,The Walking Dead, and Sleepy Hollow - these are all programs I have tried to keep up with because I really like them, but slipped behind. My daughter has mentioned a few more that I know I would like, and it seems like there is alot more to choose from than there was a few years ago. I am catching up on some of them by watching them "On Demand", but it's hard to find the time. Don't like reality shows, either.

But one program I have never missed, though, is Grimm - and can't wait until tonight. Smile
Did you see how Juliette reacted to Analinde? I thought there was going to be a b*tchfight right there and then.
