Could Renard be related to Bonaparte..I found this interesting tidbit on Wiki

But when I read the synopsis nothing about Sean being a blood desentant of Bonaparte....... the plot thinkens

you are talking about the book.
I could see Conrad being related to Sean on his mother's side. I though he might have been Adalind's dad. But that does not seem to be the case.
