Does anyone on here read Stephen King books? I'm currently halfway through 'The Shining' & really enjoying it definitely prefer the book to the film although I like the film also. I will be reading Dr Sleep after I have read 'The Shining' the last book I read of his was Pet Semetary which was really good. A million times better than the movie which was awful.

Been a while, but yes I have read several of his older works. His early writing, before his accident, are much the best he's done. And I think his books are much better than his movie's too. My favorites were Carrie, Christina, Firestarter, Needful things.
Twenty years ago or so I read a bunch of King's books. The Dark Tower series is a Must Read.
Also I just loved the Stand. Read the short version, the long version and then I watched the mini series.
"Salem's Lot" and "The Shining" were my favorites. I never really had the patience to read all of "The Stand" or "It."
I've only read a few of his works. But, "Salem's Lot" and "The Stand" are my favorites.
