Having rewatched season four and looking again at season 1 episodes with aunt Marie. With great powers of deduction 
note that Nick bounces back from loss very quickly season 1 Marie death (now he did have time to adjust) but in some ways her loss would have been almost equal to Kelly's as she raised him from age 12.
After the shock of Kelly's death he took action made plans got revenge. It will be the same with Juliette has grief will be short lived and the need for revenge will win out.
