And yet, once Nick turned into Renard, he could not morph back into his old self. He hated being Renard, so much so, that Monroe made the remark, "If Nick is stuck as the Captain for the rest of his life, he's gonna blow his brains out."
It was a baseless threat because Nick was never going to assume Renard's form again.
Aside from that, if Nick had all of these so called goods on Renard, why not force him out of office permanently?
Renard had no clue Nick had trouble turning back because he was a Grimm. Nick had two hexenbiests who also could do the job. If Renard was pushed out completely, he would surely turn to criminal communities to seek revenge. It was easier to control him as captain.
