There isn't anything wrong with wesen intermixing. The wesens who are against are just like human hate groups. It has nothing to do with them being medically compromised. We would've been told about that at any point in the show had that been the case. Nobody in the Wesenrein ever mentioned that as a reason.

That was what upset the wessenrine, some wessen were intermixing among themselves and even with nonwessen. When Monroe and Rosalee where at the Raven and Rose, a friend of Monroe's came up with his date/girlfriend/wife. When Nick asked, Monroe said she wasn't wessen. Marie was engaged to a wessen, that would have been a major issue for most of the wessen and also the the council if it had known.

I believe that two family kept it in secret , mainly because they would not want others stuck in the matter.
