If they had made HW a Grimm organization then it would have worked. It would have made sense why we needed Nick.
To me season 5 started off ok. Even the introduction of Eve seemed to work. But when they got to the stick, Adalind going to the mansion, followed by the final show down. The show was really disconnected. It really seemed like they where playing it by ear from one episode to another. The others seasons seemed like from the beginning there was a direction they where going.
I would have liked to see that point in time where Adalind made some major gesture, where she considered the others interest even at the detriment of her own. Helping with the trust me knot, and with Monroe getting the suit and tie. Was not that big of gesture. Especially seeing how the other had been shown actually putting their lives on the line. Even Eve's introduction showed her taking on an entire BC cell. When Adalind went to the mansion I was expecting to see her working from the inside to take down BC.
It seems like after the beast fight. Adalind lost all of her confidence, arrogance and sense of self. It really seemed like they wanted to pushing the issue that she was rejecting her being a hexenbiest. Maybe it was a way to contrast with Juliette accepting being a hexenbiest. To me it didn't work. Adalind is a hexenbiest and it is what made her a great character.
AS for Eve, I liked the character, but would have preferred seeing Juliette learning to be a wesen. Have it show the problems wesen have living among humans. The problems of being around her friends as a wessen. They still could have had Nick and Juliette break up with the reason being Juliette needing to learn who and what she is and how she fits in. The same as Eve was dealing with, but they should have done it as Juliette. I know the storyline of why they created Eve. I just do not see why the writers choose that direction. It is like they had a plan that they did not follow through on. It could have been Bitsie getting injured in season 4 made it not possible to do what they had planned with the Eve character. That could also be why season five seem so disconnected. If you noticed Eve went from being an action character to being more dramatic.
The zestora story line did seem to be thought out. You could tell they where wrapping up a lot of the questions people had about the characters. They spent more time giving each character a chance to have their farewell scene. Especially at the end they did seem to be trying to setup for a future story about the continuing legacy of Grimms. This was good because the last two season asked the question why do we need Nick.
You made some decent points about how Adalind getting her ass kicked once agian this time by Juliette could have affected her confidence, however as usual your false equivalency between what Adalind did to help Nick what Eve did is just nonsensical. Yes Eve basically took out an entire precinct by herself to help but that’s well within her charecters capabilities, Adalind has never been shown to be capable of doing anything like that.
Adalind on the other hand tried to the best of her capabilities to help Nick, she tried to get Nick a message even before Boneparte choked her, by calling him only Wu picks up instead and she told Wu to tell Nick kellys good and is about to say if there’s anything , only she’s interrupted by Renard before she can finish but she’s clearly trying to get Nick a message about helping him. Also when coming to the Mansion she takes a few taxis to the mansion so as not to give away Nicks location.
Then when Boneparte literally does the same thing to her he had killed Miesner with that deadly choke and gets the location out of her, she immediately runs to Diana to get Nick a warning and that warning allows the rest of the scobbies time to escape to the tunnel before BC comes only Nick chooses to stay behind and figth to let the others have more time to escape the tunnels.
Also make no mistake Boneparte would have killed her if he had to that’s why the nigth Rachel was killed he was talking to Rachel about getting closer to Diana, he was still unsure he could convert Adalind he even voiced this concern to Rachel during the conversion.
Your claims about Adalind not been willing to make a big gustre are nonsense, epescially considering unlike Eve who has zero children to worry about Adalind literally had kellys life threatened by Boneparte in her office in 5x19. Though she still try’s to send Nick two messages despite her children’s lives being online if Boneparte found out. Also considering she’s wearing a suposeed deadly engagement ring that Boneparte forced upon her that to hurt or possibly kill her children.
You also have to remember all this takes place over a matter of days, any timeline I’ve seen of the period suggest she was only at the mansion for a week tops.
Adalind couldn’t do much of anything at the mansion beacuse her children were under threat the house was surrounded by guards and Boneparte was super powerful so powerful infact he deafeted your almighty superbexist Eve a woman Adalind was terrified of so how the hell could Adalind do anything against Boneparte if even Eve couldn’t match him.
Also what Adalind did to help Nick in early season 6 was far from a simple gesture she was willing to risk lying to a courtroom and possibly go to prison for false testimony leaving her children motherless yet you claim Adalind did nothing for the gang.
Then when that fails she reluctantly agrees to go back to the mansion beacuse Nicks asks her to, she then goes back and threatens Renard if he hurts Nick.
She was also key at working from the inside to bring down Renard, Adalind not only supplied the clothes and hair which were essential for the spell and which they wouldn’t have gotten without her, she also saves Monroe’s ass by hiding him in a closet then she used her charms on Renard and kept him home for the 6 o’clock news like she was
told to do then she texted Hank informing him Renard was on the way to the precinct.
What Adalind did to help Nick is what she’s always done she used her spells and charms beacuse she’s like her mother she’s a minipulater and is skilled with spells but she’s Not Eve she can’t take down an army of men she has never been shown to do so.
Yes Adalinds less arrogant than she used to be and a less confrontational than she uesed to be, however she has always been pretty useless in a physical figth her main skills have always been being sneaky and conniving which she used to help Nick.
