If we can go by the series, the problem would be escalating, not decreasing and potentially more Wesen crimes will be committed. Nick knows Wesen law. It seems a little strange that he wouldn't alert the council to these crimes.
im not sure Nick truly knows the law only the few rosalee and monroe told him, the other part goes with why hes different then other grimms, he's stated many times his a Cop first and a Grimm second, he tries everything he can to arrest any committing crimes like murder or robbery whether the victim is human or wesen, only if he knows they are guilty and cant arrest them does he kill them
Basically Nick is aware of both words but treats everyone as equals, alot of wesen are off put by that, Frog girl episode show it as they know that she killed atleast 2 guys but once they find out she cant control it they help her and let her go, burying the case so noone else looks into it
Wu bring this up in an episode before he knows the truth, Nick and Hank Always get the "Strange cases" and a bunch of the cases are listed as closed when they shouldn't be, those are all the cases Nick handled as a Grimm or decided to let the person go
