I really like this show. I liked it last year but I felt that some of the season long story lines moved too slowly. Although you could make that argument this year, too, for the most part I find the season long storylines the best parts of the show. Watched Nameless last weekend and I spend a lot of time thinking about where this show might go.
I have two ideas that could make for a very interesting conclusion to this season and provide a real interesting Season 3.
The first idea has to do with how, or how much of Juliette’s memory comes back, or stated slightly different, how does Nick reveal to Juliette that he is a Grimm. And the second idea is how that affects Juliette’s role in the show next season.
I’ve been waiting for Nick to reveal to Juliette that he is a Grimm since half way through Season 1. He started to at the end of Season 1 just before she went into her coma. So there is a possibility that he ends up telling and explaining to her again. Part of me thinks this is unlikely because they already did this once. But a Nick explanation, complete with flashbacks of Season 1 episodes could make for a good beginning of Season 3, bringing new viewers up to speed. What I think is more likely is that something traumatic happens and Juliette’s memories become available to her. An advantage to this option is that the writers get to avoid a long narrative and the questions that the show has been able to studiously avoid so far, like “is this magic?” and “Are Grimms human?”
I guess there is also the possibility that Juliette doesn’t learn that Nick is a Grimm. I suppose there are a number of ways that could happen. I know from some comments made by fans that Juliette is not that popular among some Grimm fans. So the writers may have Juliette deciding to leave Nick and Portland. The writers could even make that just a temporary situation, leaving the possibility that Juliette comes back. That could make for some additional suspense.
If/when Juliette learns about Wessons and that Nick is a Grimm, how do you think she reacts? I guess she could just freak out and leave Nick and Portland. During Season 1 she showed that she had some really good qualities. She sent that hair/fur to get tested. She learned how to shoot. Could she partner up with Nick? Or, what I think would be real interesting – she could become interested in Wessons. Nick’s interest in Wessons seems to end with what they are and how to kill them. But Juliette is a medical professional. She might be more interesting in helping them.
I’m looking forward to hearing some other fan’s thoughts.
