I'm a huge Futurama fan, always have been, and I was absolutely delighted to see them crash Springfield on last night's episode of The Simpsons!
Ever since they announced this crossover at Comi-Con I've had the date circled on my calendar and it certainly lived up to my expectations and more.
That being said I did have two complaints regarding this episode.
1. Why wasn't this an hour long? The Simpsons/Family Guy Crossover was an hour long and they spent 5 to 10 minutes of it showing a fight between Peter and Homer and another 15 minutes trying to explain through the use of Pawtucket Patriot Ale and Duff Beer how Family Guy was its own unique show. The Simpsons/Futurama episode would have benefited way more if it was an hour long.
2. I would have liked to see more of Fry and Leela but in particular more Fry. Fry was my favorite Futurama character and all 3 of his lines were absolutely hysterical.
-Professor Farnsworth walks into the Simpson's house and lets out his trademark, "Good News, Everyone!" to which Fry turns to Bart and says, "That means it's bad..."
-Leela is explaining to Lisa why they are unequipped to deal with the issue at hand by saying, "We are just a package delivery service" at which point Fry chimes in, "And not a very good one"
-And lastly when Fry pulls the lever to turn on the time machine and exclaims, "I guess the instructions were in English!"
Anyways, I really enjoyed the episode a lot and it felt great to see the Futurama gang one more time. Hopefully the ratings for this particular episode go through the roof and someone decides to revive the show for a second time.
Not sure if there are any other Futurama fanatics on this forum, or Simpsons fans for that matter, that tuned in last night. I'd love to hear what you guys thought!
