With Nick in the tunnel we saw he was unable to put it down. Even Eve told him he should not carry it around all the time. Nick even had a talk with hank about how he felt funny when he did not have the stick.
Last person to hold the stick was Eve when it burned her.

I think it would be smart (I believe hearts hurt emotion wise will be stronger than death), and very eager to see how G&K will pull this one off as they have claimed viewers will cry.
I am certain Juliette will not die, cause most fans will be glad she is gone, after all, when many thought she was dead first time, most viewers were pleased.
But if they (G&K) want to make many cry, then they will need to pull a very bold move and that is one of the children to die sacrificing, but it has to be a dam good reason why such a sacrifice be made. if so, all hope on all three parents had, protecting, searching, caring will be all or mostly lost. Again out of character via this path.
So back to my point and opinion, No one will die, the sadness and cries will be more tuned to something else - a not so happy fairy-tale by playing with the hearts.
To add...
"When TV Guide asked co-creators Kouf and David Greenwalt what should Nick defeat for it to feel like his journey was over, Kouf said it would all lead back to what they found in the Black Forest.
He also said that the stick would play a huge role in the end of the show, while Greenwalt said that Nick would regret that he had become dependent on the stick.
“Very soon [Nick is going to regret being so dependent on the stick], and ultimately very tragically and sadly.”"
Every thing still falls back to Nick and Nick only. This tragedy and sadness will be focused on Nick only. But it will not be death, rather something else, emotional ofcourse, not a roller coaster but a stand still.
