Telling your children they are useless is, in most cases, almost certain to produce resentful children.

Catherine never told Adalind she was useless. Renard was the one who said it. They never threw her out of the house either. I was wrong on that one. Adalind left of her own accord.

By placing Juliette in a coma, Adalind shook things up in a way that might make Nick suspicious - especially when Renard himself had to intervene, because having a Grimm was important to him, and Juliette, according to Renard, “ties him [Nick] here”. Then Renard was right. Adalind should not have interfered because she did not understand.

It's pretty much a given that just about every scheme Adalind ever tried turned out to be something she would have been better off not doing.

What would be the point in using that spell if Adalind did not expect her to be awakened? Why not just have Majique (the cat) give Juliette lethal blood poisoning or something? It only makes sense if Adalind expected her to be awakened, so Nick could experience Juliette not remembering him. And Adalind said the only person who could wake her up was Renard. I.e. Adalind was hoping to take revenge on both Nick and Renard.(11-23-2020, 04:09 PM)irukandji Wrote: I am glad you find everything so funny. That script only backs up my argument. Renard wanted Juliette to awake because “she ties him [Nick] here...”. Renard had not kissed Juliette at the time, and Catherine did not warn him he could become obsessed, meaning she either did not know or did not care. Add in the statement from Adalind that Renard was “the only one who could”, and that she knew what would happened before it did, and I have a hard time understand how it was completely accidental. Thus, Adalind also got revenge on Renard.[/size] We all know Adalind knew exactly what she was doing when she infected Juliette with her cat. She knew exactly what Sean would do and the repercussions of waking her up. Remember how she was enticing them both, Juliette and Sean, again, before the wedding as she was planning to sleep with Nick to take away his Grimm? We all have to realize sometimes, when we say "WE", it does NOT include some obscure jellyfishes.

Adalind says at the end of the episode that she underestimated Nick. Renard said it wasn't his mistake. He trusted an amateur (Adalind). In my opinion, there was always something about Adalind that didn't make her trustworthy. So what do you think it was about her that would cause Renard to trust her? Could she have used her powers of manipulation to get him to believe in her?

My guess is that until Nick came along Adalind's job as Renard's vassal wasn't terribly difficult. Penny ante wesen criminal doesn't toe the line and pay his tribute, he has her cast a canned zaubertrank from the recipe book and make something nasty happen. Easy stuff. Then he made the mistake of trusting her to be able to step up her game and go up against a grimm. It was all downhill from there.
Adalind got revenge on both Renard and Nick.
Renard and Catherine were hypocrites! Catherine herself considered suppressing her powers. She had no experience with Grimms and freaked out when Nick came looking for Adalind. Shortly afterwards, she was killed by Kelly. Or as Kelly told Nick: “You know what, just for the record, I didn't actually kill her. She impaled herself”. It was Renard who wanted Adalind to use Hank as bait for the key. Adalind initially wanted to use the love-potion directly on Nick, but Renard said Nick was “too smart”. What was Adalind suppose to do when Nick did not want to hand over the key? Turn around and run? Nick would just have followed her. Biting Nick’s lip probably saved her life. Renard had access to a wesen terrorist organization but was still unable to outwit Nick. In episode 6x1, he had local armed forces searching for Nick everywhere in Portland, EXCEPT in the mayor's mansion, where Adalind and Kelly were staying. That was the most stupid and amateurish move ever. It’s also funny that BC complained about Renard’s incompetence the same way Renard complained about Adalind. Unknown BC-wesen: Do you know how much time and blood it took to get you elected mayor? Renard: That was the Grimm. Unknown BC-wesen: How? Renard: If you really want to know, it's an ancient Hexenbiest shapeshifting spell called the Verfluchte Zwillingsschwester. Unknown BC-wesen: You're a Zauberbiest. You should have known this would happen. In the end, Catherine was killed, and Renard failed spectacularly, while Adalind was able to navigate in a world of only enemies before she turned her life around and had a happy ending.

Marie gives Nick the key in the Pilot episode and nothing is mentioned about the key until Adalind has hooked up with Hank. I know Marie tells Nick that "they" will be looking for the key, but nothing is ever mentioned of who "they" are or how "they" found out Marie had the key in the first place. Do you know who "they" might be and how Marie might have gotten the key in the first place?
