That's my real issue with having plots that aren't "heavily ground" in reality. When the day comes when the writers have to provide an explanation (e.g., how wessen recognize grimm), the explanation will likely involve pissing on many episodes before it, which is what LOST ended up doing.
If the writers limited each plot to the rules that have already existed (i.e., the Krampus being just another type of wessen), then there's no issue at a later day. Everything will have been consistent. But the damn writers on this show just can't show any restraint in what they do. Also, it's because these cheezy supernatural explanations are easy solutions when the writers just don't have enough time in an episode to craft a realistic plot, i.e., because of the "Rosalee hates Christmas" plot line or Renard's plot in Europe.
