I have wondered why if a hexenbiest attacks them at the factory protecting a Grimm. A Grimm that works with Sean on the police force. Why would they think Sean would side with them.
Consider Sean is a police captain, BC attacked citizens. As captain he would be expected to respond. That he responded with Eve, makes that a team Lucien might want to see if he can get on his side. Send in Rachael, someone that could get information from Sean. Just so happens Nick and Sean are not close at the moment so no one sees the relation. They could actually see Sean was protecting his men in the factory not a Grimm.
Let's make a wild speculation. Realizing BC is looking to work with the blonde, Sean might get Adalind to be the stand in.
