Robyn, most TV "police" shows ARE fantasies. In real life, CSI's collect evidence at the crime scene, they do not interrogate suspects, do not carry guns, do not arrest people. If anyone came up to me, flash some badge and said "NCIS", I would say Huh? and call 911, unless I was packing, in which case I would make a citizen's arrest. In real life, the family on Blue Bloods would be under constant review by the Feds and ACLU. The closest to real life were the early Law and Order shows, they didn't always get their man/woman. In even the most dangerous cities of America, if they had the number and kinds of killings as Portland, there would be state and federal review of every case in Renard's station(the only one with a Grimm cop). This show does not pretend to be "real", you cannot expect "real" consequences.
