My idea for Kelly is that he is impervious to Hexenbiest magic as a natural defense mechanism to protect baby grimm half bloods from their erratic, biesty parents. They may be able to pick grimm-biest babies up with magic, but any violent attempt to cause these babies harm fails. The grimm-biest hybrids are extremely, extremely rare, due to the fact that their parents are such natural enemies (even more so than Grimms are with other wesen). As such, they have unique abilities and powers, and were known only in wesen myth and legend as the Grimm Impervious, the Impervious, Grimm Imperials (for their magically inert qualities give them the upper hand, or, power over biests, a fact that awed early wesen). They were also known as the 'Imps', for short.
Another aspect of the Imps is that biests tend to like them as babies - something about their wee natures attracts their biesty parents, and other, unrelated biests; which is also part of their natural defence and survival strategy inherited from the grimm gene. Similarly, grimms also tend to find themselves highly protective of these babies.
Based on their heritage (whether half or full-blood, for example) and power of their biest parents, they can use a bit of biest magic, mainly telepathic ability, and can stop telekinetic attacks merely by raising their hands (demonstrating their magic impervious natures). They really only partially woge, because they are, after all, only part wesen. As they get older, they also tend to find other hexenbiests and zauberbiests attractive in their woged form (a trait they inherit from their biest parents) and are equally as attracted to other grimms. Grimm-Biests are largely forgotten; considered either extinct, or mythical creatures in wesen lore (which is why Kelly's abilities haven't really been questioned as of yet, because even the experts, Monroe and Rosalee give no credit to the legends). They are more likely to have hexenbiest mothers than zauberbiest fathers, given that offspring were likely a consequence of manipulation, rather than attraction; and that offspring that came from a grimm mother were likely a result of rape (and it was far more likely that the grimm mother would have died fighting).
Plot surrounding grimm-biest:
However, there is one other very powerful, ancient grimm-biest, who has been expecting both of Adalind's children for a very long time (she read the signs and wonders surrounding Diana's birth). She is from an African tribe, where the first witchcraft began. Her birth fell under the same signs that Diana's did, and she is, similarly, a 'created' biest. However, it just so happens that her biological father was a grimm, and though the powers 'accepted' her creation and birth, her mother suffered the punishment of death for attempting the ritual for a half grimm, half biest child.
She arrives just ahead of Diana's grandmother (Sean Renard's mother), to help Adalind achieve some kind of parental control over her powerful, magic tantrum throwing daughter. Everyone is together in one room, trying to explain to Diana what brought her back to them, and what separated her from her parents in the first place. They all discover Kelly's potential destiny at the same time. Because they are so rare, it is critical for grimm-biests to locate, prepare, and train any newborn hybrids, and have been known to steal babies from uncooperative biest parents. In this case, it is also important for the Imp to help control Diana's violence until she can achieve that control herself through developing empathy in a loving home environment.
From the Imp, Diana learns why she already kind of likes her half-brother, but still tries to drop him on the floor just to test what she is being told. Everyone in the room screams and jumps to rescue baby Kelly, only to discover he never hits the floor. He just smiles at his sister and she scoops him back up, protectively, now his sworn protector.
Diana's grandmother arrives, which is sensed and foretold by both the grimm-biest and Diana. They both turn to Sean Renard, who is present, and say there's someone coming for you, and she's not happy. Sean looks a bit incredulous, and turns his gaze downward once he realizes 'she' is likely his mother. The grimm-biest encourages Diana to mentally greet her grandma, while also assessing her motives. Diana confirms her grandma wants to take her, which the grimm-biest confirms (and applaudes Diana for her skill). Diana knows her grandma won't likely have much luck, and gets angry at the idea. The grimm-biest calms Diana and suggests she could, instead, invite her grandma to stay longer or visit more often, so she can learn who she is and practice her craft. Adalind prickles with the idea of now also having an interfering hexenbiest mother-in-law around, but feels better when she realizes she might be helpful with her kids.
The grandmother arrives, a bit startled that she hadn't 'seen' the grimm-biest, and greets the group after shooting her son a venemous look. She then tells the group the grimm-biest isn't even in the room with them, she is just projecting herself telepathicaly, like Diana can. Nick is frustrated to learn this news, as he realizes they could have all been in great danger. Diana tells him not to worry, and that she knew this the whole time. [/font]
That's what I've dreamed up so far!! Kelly has to be important somehow, right??!
