I have to correct myself on this one. I was using just one definition I found and that is close to what I think.
But you are completly correct. In the dictionary (in english and in the translated word to portuguese) prophecy is defined as predicting the future and not necesserely in a religious way. In this case, prophecy and prediction is actually the samething.
