**** I edited the original post somewhat with the hope of softening the tone. The intent of the post was not to be insulting tho those who are fans of the show. IN my view pure entertainment shows are wonderful, it just happens I am not at that place in my life at present. Hopefully the alterations are well received****
So "we" did not watch all of Season 5, we missed 3 episodes, ones that were more Juliette centric because none of us think Bitsie can act worth a damn and the scripts seemed increasingly ludicrous to us.
We did watch episode 1 of season 6 and thought the narrative forced you to totally suspend reality, so we elected to wait and decide later is this season ises a change in tone. It is about that time when we are running out of time to watch the archives of episode 2 on...so the question become is it actually worth the effort, to us? In participating in a few threads I get the idea my summation of season 6 was correct, the creative team phoned it in, and the season is more about letting the actors do what they want to advance their careers because the creative team moved on long ago.
Things that would motivate us to watch would be cohesive explanations for the motivations of the central characters. They rather fleshed out Bud initially, you could understand his motivations. The same with the relationship between Monroe and Rosalee. Those three remain the most believable part of the show in terms of interpersonal relationships, to us. So for instance if there was a good flashback episode that explained how Juliette landed in Portland, how she met Nick, why she fell in love (if she ever was) with this loser, why Hank or Wu would throw their careers in the toilet, disobey their oath of office, and become hard core felons in order to Grimm with Nick, or why Adalind allows every man in her life to abuse her, then yeah we would have some interest.
Or we would be very interested if the show took an adult turn and actually brought the scoobies or at least Nick to justice for their many crimes. Or if there was some compelling storylines…but what I have gleamed so far is it is just more of the same toen set in season 5.
So I am curious, based on that, is there any reason for us to watch season 6?
