She see Nick's and Adalind friends as being different than her father's friends, making a complete family circle. Nick's friends because she and Nick are the only two to see both outcomes, dieing to keep her safe, now granted Sean did also but he did it with Nick's scoobies.

One thing I'll add here because it seen out of place at the end. Diana tells Kelly to hurry up saying mom and dad are both on they way plus Monroe's children. So that 2 Grimm's 2 hexenbiest one with amazing powers, 3 wessen and the staff what could they be up against to require the much horsepower? Some group wanting a BC startup?

@js, I realize I'm jumping into this conversation rather late but, I wanted to make a couple of observations. When it comes to Diana calling Nick "dad" you might want to think about Nick being a family guy type while Renard most definitely is not. Nick would probably end up being the guy who filled the "dad" role in her life. Smile

Also, we are assuming Renard lived much longer. In the 2nd to last episode Truble said BC had been wiped out. Renard was still alive then, but, maybe HW decided to tie up a couple of "loose ends" at some later date? Dodgy

Or, Renard may have decided to try and take the throne. As King Frederick's son (bastard or not) he could make a strong claim. He either succeeded and is the head of the Royals, or he failed and is fish bait. Dodgy

Just some thoughts.

If he went after the throne, it would be his father's which was one family out of seven. Viktor has a better claim if legitimacy is an issue.

wf I hadn'd thought to much about what happened to Sean. HW or him becoming King I kind of doubt but Viktor killing him that is a thought. VIktor had no problem taking out the King if he thought Sean could move on him I can see this being Viktor's way of handing it. Dodgy

Like the idea of Diana seeing the difference in Nick the family man and Sean being well whatever. Wink

Now this is a scenario I can believe. Sean taking over for the king. Bastard son or not? He was a direct descendent of Freddy, the King. Was there any other son’s left? I lost track of who lived or died. Weren’t the last two Royals that went after Diana nephews? Sean would fit right in. one scum bucket replacing another.

There’s a discussion about whether and how much Nick changed during the course of the show in the ‘difference between Nick’s two relationships’ thread. Nick’s story began with him keeping secrets and lying to Juliette. He did the same with Adalind during their pre-relationship living arrangement in S5, but came clean (off screen) about the stick when they were in an established relationship in S6.

Nick keeping the truth from Adalind or his friends brings into question whether he actually changed or if he’s the same guy from the pilot who keeps secrets and lies whenever he considers it beneficial. So in that regard, I would prefer that the timeline change not be a bonding secret for Nick and Diana. Because what’s the value of a relationship based on lying/deceiving those you love?

Sorry i should have clarified what I meant. I wasn't trying to write that Nick and Diana forned a closer bond because Nick kept it a secret from the others but more like they forned a bond because they are the only ones who can remember the whole incident with Z. In my intended scenario, Nick would have told the others, which as rpmaluki wrote, explains how Kelly knew about it. But because the others would still have no memory of it, it wouldn' affect them the way it would Nick and Diana. It's like when people go through a traumatic event, others might sympathise or empathise, but they wouldnt be able to relate and connect the same way another person who has gone through the same trauma could. Thats what i meant about their bond.

That makes sense.

I can’t understand the Renard hate because of his alliance with BC. Renard was introduced as a character driven by his obsession for power and that never changed. He didn’t befriend Nick, he protected an adversary who was more beneficial as an ally/asset - until he wasn't.

But the assumption that Renard wasn’t welcomed back into the fold doesn’t make sense considering the characters weren’t held accountable once their specific storyline of betrayal concluded.

personally I have always hated Renard not just beacuse of blackclaw it's beacuse nearly all of the bad things that happened to people on the show can be traced back to him. I feel like Adalind gets far more hate than he does when really he was the mastermind behind nearly everything.

I don't hate Renard. For the most part I liked him. I was extremely disappointed in his BC arc because I never expected him to become someone's puppet. I do think he's been welcomed back into the fold but gone are the scoobies that followed after/trusted blindly in him. He's the only character that burnt them one too many times and they are now wary of just the kind of person he is.

I get that, and I agree, Renard was a skillful puppet master for four seasons, fooling Nick and the Resistance into believing he was a trustworthy ally. But for me, the reality is that the creative team wrote the bad guy character as a skillful puppet master and the central character/hero as easily manipulated and duped for the benefit of their stories. The fictional characters are simply doing what they were written to do. I don’t really care whether a character is a good guy or bad guy, only that they’re interesting and entertaining to watch.

I enjoyed Adalind’s storylines in the first three seasons because she was interesting and entertaining. I enjoyed her storyline less in the last three seasons because she wasn’t as interesting and entertaining. But antagonists are generally more interesting and complicated because the writers can take more liberties with their characterization and evolution.

It’s the same with Renard. I wasn’t surprised that he joined BC because the organization offered him a quick route to political power, but I was very disappointed that Renard suddenly lacked the manipulating and strategizing skills he had successfully utilized for four seasons.
