I did not see her staying in the basement as her being broke but her trying to deal with the changes going on at the time. Remember this happens after the attack on HW and her getting healed with the stick. Both things could have left her without access to any of her resources. What is was surprised about they did not pair Eve with Sean. I would have like to see that instead of Sean siding with BC. Having Adaliind bringing Diana over to Sean's and Eve being there could lead to a ton of drama. especially if Eve and Diana started to bond over using magic. Eve and Diana both showed a casual use of magic. Eve used it to open doors. Diana used it to boil water. Adalind was never shown to casually use magic.
But you have to remember that she was supposed to have been crafted as something completely unusual and extremely powerful. So, why would the creative team even have her meddling around with Sean's participation in HW? For that matter, why have the outrageous scene of her sleeping with Rachel. That put a comedic spin on things, but was that what they were hoping for? Grimm, the comedy?
I agree with you that there could have been a ton of drama between Adalind and Eve, but the creative has to create that drama and it has to make sense in this realm of HW versus BC. Unfortunately exchanging Adalind where Juliette once walked as Nick's partner and Eve where Adalind once walked as a witch who caused prpoblems doesn't cut it.
