Both Nick and Adeline could have "friends" on the side who they might fall in love with, making for interesting seating arrangements at the dinner table. I agree those friends would have to be up to speed on the rules of the wessen world. Small children do not know what others consider "normal", they think their world is normal. Only later, when they visit their friends's homes do they notice the difference. I always thought big noisy messy families were the norm, then I met some only children living in picture perfect everything in its perfect place homes. It was a shock how weird those families were.
You really think this show is going to go have Adalind and Nick BOTH find new people to have relationships with? Develop those characters, pay them to be around all the time, etc etc?
This is definitely not happening. It will be Nick/Adalind, unless Adalind dies or Juliette comes back, or Nick is alone. I don't think they're giving each of them another random romance.
Well, okay, I agree on the budget reality, but I was throwing out possible paths, how they could be made real. If the goal is Nick or Adeline having a "friend", there are ways that could be believable. How would you feel about one having a friend, would that fit into the budget? I don't think either one will take oaths to remain unsullied forever. Also, I was addressing the question of Kelly's parents having a relationship that would not cause him confusion. If that is not an issue for the writers, it will not be addressed, and it won't bother me one way or another.

If you think about it, this show is bad giving ANYONE friends, you know? Who else do they ever talk to for more than one scene? So the reality is, if there's going to be a relationship for Nick, it's really Adalind or no one. And I just don't think they're doing the "no one", you know?

What does Nick offer a woman? The chance he may not ever come home at night, unstable work-life balance, unless he continues to grow up, a rather immature, impulsive demeanor, very weird friends and sort of a dysfunctional background. Oh and if you really get to know him, fuzzy-kittened genetics for procreation activities.

I would think Adalind could easily do better.
And she probably will. She seemed pretty interested in the attorney position at her old firm. If she was making six figures (like Nick and Hank speculated in season one), she could easily strike out on her own and become independent.
There was a thread awhile back about Nick needing to be more proactive. He still seems to battle with a lack of initiative at times, in my opinion.

I would see more problems with Adalind and a man than Nick and a woman. Sean or Miesner maybe the jury is still out on that. These are all ready in Adalind's life and we have a history with both, someone new no. So for the fun of debate let's look at both from my view.
Sean has a child with Adalind same as Nick (still think LBB may be Eric's) so they start as equal. Sean knows the old Adalind better that Nick but do we see any love from a Zauberbiest they look to be kind lacking in that area as are most wesen of this type (we seen hexens). Question is that a trait of both or just the times we seen them? Question then becomes Adalind from my view has more baggage with Sean than even Nick. Sean did give up their (maybe) child I know it was for a very good reason but it did happen. Sean used Adalind for his agenda Nick hasn't. Sean is connected to the royals Kenneth put her out to get to Juliette she may put Sean in that light. I think at one time Adalind may loved him but they both have destroyed that.
Miesner is another question he knows she hexen he knows Diana is also, he looks to be ok with that. But always a but he also looks to be solely out for revenge against the royals and I would think that once the Portland thing is done he will return to Europe to carry on that battle. I like the character Miesner and for a time couldn't see a Nick/Adalind connection working I have changed my mind. Now I want Miesner to be the good uncle to both Kelly and Diana there to help protect both and to help Nick and Adalind work things out.
Now Diana/LBB we know that she was with Kelly we also seen her open the locket with Nick picture. So does she know Nick, would she see him as a bother? Will she feel a kinship with Kelly?

These are really good questions. Just from what I've seen of Diana, she gives off some very creepy vibes in my opinion. I suspect she may not be able to feel a kinship with anyone. Is that normal or abnormal for child hexenbiests though? Adalind mentioned something about her mother not being all that motherly (paraphrasing here).

I put these quotes together because I think in a sense they're saying the same thing. With Adalind's past, what have any of these men offered her? Not a lot. They're all temporary at best. It's a little weird that she's willing to accept that though. So the question on my mind is with regard to Adalind's emotional stability. Is she really able to love a man?
