G & K probably had something in mind for later that the ring/spell scene would lead to. But the show got cancelled and priorities changed when scripting the final season. To me, choosing to leave the scene in after learning there might not be time to do anything with it wouldn’t be a big deal.
Considering the episodes are taken up by Nick working Wesen cases and Juliette researching the season arc, where is the time to include Adalind and Renard and their cursed engagement ring? I doubt Adalind and Renard’s story is a priority in the final season. And since Nick hasn’t shown the slightest interest in ever marrying Adalind, the ring doesn’t directly effect him. Bonaparte was foretelling anything other than Adalind would painfully regret defying him. Marie was warning Nick of the obvious. It’s not a foretelling come to pass, it’s the result of Nick being too selfish to end his relationship with Juliette. Kelly wanting that powerful baby is the extent of her prediction abilities. If Kelly could actually predict, she’d have seen she could avoid losing her head by handing over Diana to Meisner at the appropriate time.

Either way, it’s not the first storyline to be dropped. I recall an interview shortly after the S5 finale that either G or K confirmed the ring spell would cause problems for Nick/Adalind in S6. But it’s not been mentioned since Adalind explained to Nick what Bonaparte did. And I don’t recall any spoilers or episode synopsis mentioning the ring spell. It could be that G&K plan to set off a bomb with the ring spell at the worst possible time for the gang to deal with it, and are keeping it under wraps until the moment of reveal. But I won’t be surprised if it’s dropped due to time restrictions.

Season 6 renewal was announced last May, but unofficially they knew on set that they were getting a 6 during the shooting of 520 near the end of March. The announcement that 6 would be the last and the reduced order was in the summer after 522 had wrapped.

Thanks. It's good to have someone in the know on the forum.
So when the episode aired, G&K might have been planning for something to happen later on because of Bonaparte's ring curse.

I think the spell on the ring probably died with Conrad. He was so arrogant it would never have occurred to him that he might need a spell that would outlive him.

Actually, Adalind told Nick about the ring earlier this season, so it could very well be an issue yet.

I was thinking they planned something then decided there wasn’t time because the ring causing problems in S6 was mentioned in an interview.
But unless the spell is currently dormant and something is going to trigger it, I don’t see how it can still be in play. Adalind has conspired against Renard and made a home with Nick. If the spell wasn’t intended to prevent that from happening, what was it meant to do? You may have a point about Bonaparte’s arrogance. He may have created a spell that prevented Adalind from defying him, not Renard. And once dead, he no longer existed for Adalind to defy. And he could have only played on Adalind’s fear for her children’s safety. It was enough that he convinced her they’d be harmed. Because the only thing he explicitly told her she couldn’t do was take it off.
