I am one that posted about the relationship between Nick and Juliette vs the relationship between Nick and Adalind. When I point out the differences I use exactly what is written. Not what I think they meant.
I will agree the writers want us to believe Adalind has changed and Nick and Adalind now have a relationship. There are a number of scenes which show they do care for each other. The difference I see is with Nick and Juliette the writers show them having romantic dinners, taking a vacation. They are seen being this romantic couple. Yet when it comes the Nick and Adalind the romance seems lacking. People try and rationalize it by saying they have a kid which does not leave time for the romance that Nick and Juliette had. The problem I have with that is being scripted the writers could add anything they want. This also means the romance missing is not by accident but on purpose. I have read that the actors play it as Nick and Adalind are in love with each other. According to the dialog Nick is in love with Adalind because she is the mother of his child.
What I did notice especially after that long dialog Nick and Eve had in the other place. Nick is not over Juliette. There are also a few times when the writers show Nick holding one to the memory of Juliette. The other thing that continues from the time he discovered Juliette was a hexenbiest. That is the guilt he feels. We know that is the intent because Nicks dialog continuously includes Nick's feeling of guilt.
The entire big blowup at the spice shop was all about Nick feeling of guilt.
IMO the writers downplaying Nicks love for Adalind is so they they can continue the guilt Nick feels for Juliette. I also see Nick not having feeling for Eve as the writers wanting to accentuating Nick relationship with Adalind. I also think this is what is causing all the discussions. this balancing act the writers are trying to preform, without having Nick look like he is emotionally cheating on Adalind. To me this was done so they could return Eve to an emotional character without creating a sense of perceived jealousy. I think they did a good job. Seeing as how they had Nick working with Eve yet the perception of jealousy never occurred.
The one thing we don't know and the writers never stated or hinted about is how does Nick feel about Eve. We know that Eve has moved on. We also know that Eve has no interest in Nick. The one thing the writers left open, if Eve was to show an interest in Nick what would Nick do. Especially in season 6 when Eve regained her emotions. People have speculated but from what is written we have no idea what the writers intended.
