Eric, these are words of wisdom. And I have held my typing when I've read some of the absolute appalling things some of these posters wish would happen to Juliette. I cannot say that's the same consideration when someone tries to post something positive about her character. There is no allowing of any post that talks about the positive side of Juliette. Instead the passion flares up to meanness and name calling and stupid accusations that have no basis in fact.
It's not a secret that I don't like Nick. That is my opinion. But there is no understanding of that, even though it is just an opinion. Instead, those who are so passionate about him rise up in some kind of imagined crisis. I've often been floundered with questions as to why I watch the show if I don't like the main character. In reality what has that got to do with anything? For one thing it's no one's business why a viewer watches and no viewer should have to explain to a bunch of faceless forum members why they watch a program anyway. But isn't even a real question that these people are interested in. It's yet another excuse for bullying, name calling and just plain meanness.
This isn't about working around biases with regard to characters. The biases are against forum members because we all have different opinions and certain opinions are just not allowed. Because of that whatever respect there was for fellow forum members vanished long ago in the sewers you speak of.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
