It would make sense if the creators had Juliette go crazy for this reason. However, Nick spent very little time mourning Kelly and Juliette, for all of the hoopla that went into planning Kelly's betrayal. Then there's the trailer. Burned so Nick could soon find yet more diaries including his own history and the keys via Monroe's uncle. Even when the strange and unusual Eve returned, Nick was not one bit curious how his girlfriend turned into a completely different person.
They didn't spend a lot of time showing Nick mourning in show time but these events unfolded in the penultimate episode of season 4 and carried over to the finale. That meant that four months would pass until the next new episode of Grimm. It was put there to get the viewers to stew over Juliette's actions over the summer rather than have Nick grieve for more than two episodes.
The writers generally don't like characters grieving for any prolonged period because it interferes with the current plot.
