Do you think the babies are clutter and not important to the story? I will say I do. Babies have no place on Grimm. I believe they were simply invented to give Adalind more to do and Rosalee more to do.
Marriage, on the other hand, I do not see as a problem on Grimm. These people are partners. Juliette and Nick lived together for quite some time, it makes sense to me that they take the next step and marry. Just because they're married doesn't mean they can't work together. It's when someone gets the brilliant idea that, just because these characters are married, they have to have a baby right away that ruins things.
To me, marriage shows that they are really committed to one another. If they're partners in life, they can be partners who work together to identify wesen and solve crimes as well. It strengthens the bond between them, in my opinion. Plus it's not so easy for either to walk away and simply sleep with someone else. I find that in itself is a lot of clutter in television series these days.
On the old website JumpTheShark they use to list key indicators of when a show was going to jump the shark. One of them was the arrival of a baby. I think that held true for Grimm.

That would be true for my generation and perhaps even Nick's and Renard's but I will say MGTOW is actually a thing. I have been surprised by it, as it was not really a viable option in my generation, but, it has arrived. I think Renard is the classic Uncle bachelor, but guys like Hank are certainly part of what inspired the movement.
Oxford commas are so totally rad!.
