Unlike Hyndara, who is absolutely obsessed with Truble. I don't see her replacing Nick's character at all.
What I think is likely is that she was put in the show to balance the characters. That is, to add another female character, since the show is rather male character dominated. Also, they are trying to get in some more young viewers. Just my opinion.
And of course, now that Monrosalee are married, their priority will be building a life together, this would preclude a lot of Grimm activity. So, Nick needs a new sidekick to take up the slack.
I really hope the writers don't have Monroe and Rosalee's world further imploding on itself; they've been trivialized enough as it is. The idea that Stabby Spice is going to be Nick's "sidekick" instead of them emphasizing the friendship between Nick and Monroe and taking advantage of this ideal opportunity to put Monroe back in his place as Nick's right hand man makes me cringe.
I agree Theresa is probably a lollipop being waved at younger viewers. She certainly plays like a thirteen-year-old girl's idea of what constitutes a "strong woman." Sigh.
