When he originally stored Juliette's things, that could have been a sentimental thing of not wanting to get rid of her completely from his life, at that time he hadn't developed any romantic feelings for Adalind, they were still two strangers that shared a baby. He kept the car because that was practical but everything else was too personal and of no use. I think as time went by the things in storage slipped to the back of his mind as he dealt with other matters. It's a good thing too because Juliette can now claim it back from him and start her life again now she's no longer being housed at HW.
