I don't think that's what happened. Eve called with info she deemed important regarding what happened to the mayoral candidate. It would have been irresponsible for Nick to tell her to wait and shelve whatever find she discovered for a more appropriate time. There was the time he seemed exasperated by it because it seemed like something that could have waited until morning because they did nothing with the intel that night and she'd basically taken him away from his father-son bonding session not his time with Adalind. I never once saw Nick rushing out just because Eve called for no other reason than that she called. On one occasion he even has a quick convo about Eve with Adalind before leaving. 10/10 she framed her calls as being important but it didn't always pan out like that because not everything was an emergency that needed Nick to act on it right then and there.
Edit: Now if you replace Eve and say, Meisner/Trubel/Monroe/Renard/Hank called Nick out every night over some lead that he was working on the result would still be the same, Nick would drop what he was doing because that's what police detectives do, regardless of the hour of night.
I see it as more telling about Eve's state of mind than Nick since she was the one always seeking him out for everything.
