It's become painfully clear that we were really not supposed to question a lot of these things. Nick should've asked for a paternity test just like Sean should've but the show told us that they're the fathers so that settles that. At least Diana would've been Sean's niece had she belonged to Eric so maybe he would still want to be involved in her life somehow. The timing of Adalind's pregnancy led them to making Nick the father because they wanted to just rpmaluki said. Adalind took Kelly away from Nick and went to Sean because she loved him and it's not meant to be doubted. She absolutely should've spoken to Meisner herself but didn't for reasons I can't understand.
I do think degrimm has a point with Adalind not wanting to use Diana that way. Adalind was shown as afraid of what she would do now that her powers have returned so I can definitely see why she wouldn't want Diana to unleash hers because she's much more powerful than she is. Diana even makes Eve look like a minor inconvenience.
However, the major problem I see with that is Adalind not eventually giving in. Adalind would've gotten desperate to get her family away from BC and she would've instructed Diana to get them out of there because they were too dangerous to stay around and be at their mercy for the rest of their lives so she would've thought it was worth it. Diana having to stay in that situation wouldn't have been any better for her and Adalind should've realized that once she was introduced to Conrad.
