Good episode. Renard isn't in the hospital, thankful for that because I really did bite when that chimney sweep wesen had him in his sights. The problem I'm having is I think he was the original mark because Lucien gave him his photograph as the target. (That weapon seemed to be custom made for this hit, with hand made bullets, wonder why.) Why the last minute change, if there was one, because Rachel received a call, but I didn't see her make one, so she didn't give any orders. And she was smiling, sort of naturally, like she didn't know anything was about to happen.
Lucian said it had to be done right away; no postponing it, and he said to someone on the phone that they had to leave at midnight; so maybe BC knows where Nick and Monroe are headed, or maybe he just had a late date. This show is like having a bad drug trip; nothing is what it seems to be.
Probably we will see Sean installed as the new mayor in an episode or two down the line. I think BC has something big involving the mayor's office in mind. Because at HW were talking about how big this guy's hits were and that his m.o. was usually explosives that would kill quite a few, but this was aimed at a specific target.
Adalind and Nick, say it isn't so. Can't take them romantically paired; it doesn't fit at all. Raising a child together because it's the right thing to do, okay. It's not on a particular principle that I object; just that there really is too much bad history there. I've always liked Adalind even though she was the villain of the piece, but not with Nick. Assaulting a law of nature, imo.
How the heck did N and M find that below ground room without the other keys. And it's kinda hard to suspend disbelief at their incredible luck in using GPS and those ancient, almost runic drawings to the find the exact spot of the five foot square area containing an above-surface foundation rock in the ground. And then Monroe pries around it for two seconds and triggers a lever or something, and whoosh, now that's entertainment.
The command center of Portland HW is fascinating to watch, though. It's comforting, and at the same time unsettling, to know that there's technology out there that can find you wherever are and however you look. Even though neither HW nor the PPB could head off this attack they both were impressive in closing in on the assassin. There was some cooperation between HW and the Portland Police Bureau in this matter, a very good thing. To their credit officers Hank and Wu got there first, Portland's finest will suss it out first every time. Of course, we have another corpus delicti on the scene, but that's just another day in the city on Grimm.
I really did enjoy the episode very much and next week can't come too soon, should answer a few questions.
