Funny thing, I was walking in a library yesterday when I saw a book titled "Krampus" I wouldn't have noticed it if not for this episode of Grimm.

Wait, was it a novel or a non-fiction book?
I talk in my sleep sometimes ... okay, a lot ... and my husband told me one night last week I was mumbling something about Krampus. I guess the show is invading my dreams now.
Whoa, look out. They ate a baby. That's rude.

As a former high school and middle school teacher, I can think of several kids I'd like to give to Krampus!

On the other hand, maybe the Council will actually study the matter, particular in light of "Stories We Tell Our Young." And Nick isn't the usual Grimm, i.e., kill first, ask questions later. I'd almost like to see another Krampus appear, just to see. I have to disagree with you on Christmas being ruined by Rosalee. Some people hold on to stuff. Might have been the tone set in subsequent Christmases that reinforced her not liking Christmas. Lot of people don't like a holiday for one reason, and other negative events reinforce it over the years, even though they will consciously only remember the one "Big" negative event. And I do agree with you that if there is a Portland plot, a Portland subplot, and the European subplot, sometimes it feels as if the European subplot gets hurried and overly edited. It might be kind of interesting just to do one episode entirely on the European happenings. But only one or two European episodes per season.

I found the episode hilarious, Krampus going after naughty teens, Nick's brawl with Santa, scenes with Bud...
I always thought Krampus was more of an Austrian than a German thing...have to look that up...

Ok, looked it up, I'm wrong, it's not just an Austrian thing, but actually also a Bavarian thing and goes as far as Hungary, North Italy, Croatia, Slowenia, Czech Republic...
The tongue is also visible in an old postcard posted in the German and English wikipedia entry: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus |
