I haven't explained why I think Rosalee is Romeo and not Juliet. Here is why:
1) Romeo was looking for that one true love. Romeo was more adventuresome. He traveled more than Juliet. Juliet was more of a homebody. She was shy and bashful but she had no guile. She blurted out her feelings for Romeo first.
1.) Rosalee moved to Portland when her brother died. Monroe, on the other hand, was always a homebody. Monroe is shyer than Rosalee at first. He wants to ask her on a picnic but then he doesn’t want to if she doesn’t want to. Rosalee takes the initiative from him and says, yes.
2.) Romeo talks less but is more accertive. He kisses Juliet first.
2.) Monroe wants to kiss Rosalee but talks instead. Rosalee just takes over and kisses Monroe.
3.) Romeo is loyal to his family but he doesn’t want to join them in their feud. He's a peacemaker.
3.) Rosalee is proud to be a Fuchbaus but she doesn’t share their hatred of Blutbaden. Rosalee tries to get everyone to get along.
4.) Juliet is the one who waits for Romeo to return from Mantua and pines for him.
4.) Monroe waits in the spice shop while Rosalee is visiting her aunt and Monroe blatters on to Renard about his feelings for Rosalee.
5.) Romeo visits Juliet in her home and sleeps with her there.
5.) Rosalee comes to dinner dates at Monroe’s house and sleeps with him there.
The character of Romeo fits Rosalee better. The character of Juliet fits Monroe.
