Rewatched season 1 again, just noticed that there was more domestic scenes from season 1 compared to later seasons. They episodes and scenes also seemed to flow much better than in season 5-6. I think the lack of domestic scenes in some episodes in seasons 5-6 is probably why some people are dissatisfied with the way Nick and Adalind's relationship was depicted. The show writers wanted the audience to assume that things were developing/progressing between them off screen, which didn't work imo. Also the scenes were much more colourful in season 1, the music was more fairytale like, even the clothing was more elaborate. In contrast, the later seasons were more drab/realistic in colour schemes. There just wasn't an otherwordly vibe to it, it just became darker, losing the original charm of the first season. Season 4,5,6 were quite depressing to watch compared to season 1.

There were actually more "domestic" scenes in seasons 4-6 than in previous seasons. It's just that they largely consisted of really bad things happening to or between the characters in them.

I might need to rewatch the later seasons again, but I did find it quite jarring in seasons 5-6 that there were some episodes that purely focused on the WoW e.g A Reptile Dysfunction, or it focused purely on BC and then the next episodes had some sprinkling of domestic scenes. It was rather clumsily handled I thought, whereas in season 1, G & K were able to balance both quite nicely and smoothly. I think some posters have said that Grimm tried to become bigger than what it was, it tried to tie in too much to current events instead of going back to what made it so appealing in the first place. Just wanted to add, apart from that fairy tale quality that was so prevalent in season 1, later seasons also lost the surreality from the WoW episodes. Blind Love was probably the most similar in quality and feel to season 1 from seasons 5-6. That's probably why I enjoyed it so much.

I'm counting every scene between the series regulars that takes place in somebody's home (Nick's house, the fome, Conrad's house, Sean's houses or Monroe and Rosalee's house) as a "domestic scene." I'm not counting the scenes where someone else is involved (Conrad, Meisner, Trubel, BC attackers, etc.)

What I saw different was with Juliette and what was lacking in Season 1 from the rest of the seasons. To me, in Season 1, Juliette was more of an extra, on set with, speaking parts. Once she comes out of the coma she became more of the supporting role, I think, that's what she was originally cast for.

Yes, and that was when she was at her best as a character. Took way too long to get there and didn't last nearly long ago.
I am of the opinion that when Juliette came into the trailer back in S01 Nick should have said to her, "Aunt Marie told me the most incredible story about this stuff, but I think maybe it was all real." Then S01 and S02 could have been about them discovering together what Nick's grimm was and what it meant to them as a couple.

They had to turn to that coma crap and make season 2, my most hated season. We should get Hexenadler to re-write Season 2 as you suggest, instead of the fan-fiction he writes about. A ball-less, back-less Nick and the Dominatrix, Juliette he fantasizes about.

They simply didn't know how to write that onto the show.

I think my fantasy runs more along the lines of them becoming Nick and Nora Charles. And after Juliette turns hexenbiest, John Steed and Emma Peel. The only thing Hexenadler's fantasies and mine would probably have in common is Bitsie in leather catsuits.
