I agree with Mary. I don't think Adalind and Nick would have had the time to develop a close relationship even after living together and co-parenting Kelly. Adalind would have moved out of the loft as soon as she was offered the job from her old firm, she and Nick wouldn't have really gotten to know each other as much as they did if they didn't develop feelings for each other. it would be similar to how Adalind's relationship is like with Renard, civil but distant, trust wouldn't have developed as much. Diana wouldn't have become involved, neither would Adalind or Sean in the stick mystery in season 6. Nick would also probably end up alone and become a traditional grimm, just like his ancestors. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up shutting himself off from his friends eventually. I don't think he and JuliEve would end up together again, Nick's mother's death would have remained a significant barrier to any hope of reconciliation. I think Nick was able to move on from her murder only because of Adalind and Kelly and even Diana. His new found family offered him hope and sanctuary from all the tragedy that occurred in his life.
