That doesn't mean he's directing anybody's every move, but he's the one deciding who is going to go or stay where and take on which mission, and at key points the people doing the missions are reporting their progress to him and receiving either approval to continue to instructions to change direction if needed. That's actually the way good leadership works, not by trying to micromanage everybody. That is well stated. Your question is likely correct he does know Sean and being in Portland to carry out the killing of the King put him in Portland, now he has Diana. I can see Chavez asking him to stay. She knows about Trubel and had been watching Nick. Could also be safer for him not to be in Europe after killing the King Viktor would have to look like he was looking for the killer.
One question in my mind is why Meisner is in Portland, rather than in Europe where he would have been more familiar with the environment and people. The only reason I can think of that makes sense is that he's had experience working with Sean Renard.
I haven't see the show recently so maybe this question waw already answered... But... Do the royals know the king is dead? Or is the king just OFFICIALLY missing?
