Honestly, I wanted to kick Martin's little hiney the entire time. Unfortunately, I also got hooked on and read them all, most before HBO showed up on the scene.
I bought my first GOT book about twenty years ago, just missed the First Edition, it was the Second. All the others were first editions and I even have one signed by the author. Long time fan of the bloody, irreverent, sexually twisted, brutish and dog-eat-dog saga that had its conception in the fertile, albeit clinically unwholesome, brain of George R. R. Martin. Lots of departures from the original stories in the t.v. production, but I'm okay with it.
